I'll now incorporate a short essay to introduce you to the real me, further introduce you to Kryptyk, and to give you a general overview of my knowledge and play style.
I am a 21 year old male with a year of schooling under my belt. Took last year as well as this year off of schooling to make some money to afford the costs. Next year I plan on getting back down to University, but for the time being I'm bouncing between jobs and paying the bills. Outside Azeroth, I enjoy working out, playing sports, and having the occasional beer or whiskey with my friends. I'm a down to earth guy who's very easy to get along with. I don't have an annoying mic, am vocal when need be, and rarely make mistakes. A wise man sees failure as progress; I learn from any mistake I do make and see to it that they do not happen again.
After messing around with nearly every class in the game, I decided to go with the Shaman as my first 80. During that time I have learned a lot about my class, as well as most every other class in the game. In my eyes, to play your class at the highest of levels, you must also have a firm understanding of every other class, including their roles in raids, and the buffs they have to offer. Being a Shaman, this is especially important, as we are a circumstantial class. Knowing what totems to drop at what time, or when the effect of a totem is being overridden by another class is very important. Ancestral Fortitude is an important buff in which Shaman have in their arsenal. With no disc priest in raid, we are the only supplier of the 10% damage reduction buff, and with the changes to Riptide in 3.2, having the buff on tanks is very simple, and very effective.
I dinged 80 and began my raiding career with a small guild named Karma. We were a small 10 man raiding guild, and although we cleared as much as any bad PUG could, it was an ideal spot for me to acquire the fundamentals of raiding. I leveled up, as most Shaman do, as Enhance, but was asked to go restoration upon hitting 80, and am glad I did. After gearing up and quickly grasping the mechanics of raiding, I was promoted to Officer soon before the Guild Leader decided to go casual, and the core members left the guild. I then joined Desire, a 25 man raiding guild, but unfortunately they too disbanded within a month of my arrival. Exodus was my next stop, but unfortunately guild leader decided he'd be happier without the stress of managing a guild and has gone off to a Server-First guild on a different realm. The torch was passed to a very capable member, but with fluctuating attendance, he decided to let the guild fold. From there I bounced around a few guilds and got nothing accomplished before I apped to CryHavoc and faction changed to raid with them a few months. Before Christmas my motherboard fried and I had to take a month off while waiting for the warranty. They had no choice but to fill my spot, which leaves me guildless with an urge to progress through ICC.
I love healing. As a Shaman, this is how a typical boss encounter goes. After coordinated which shaman is dropping which totem and setting all that up, I Riptide/LWH the maintank before the pull to get Ancestral Fortitude up. After that I'm either chainhealing Tanks and Melee (Ranged as well if the fight require them stacking close enough) and using Riptide/LHW/LWH or Riptide/HW/HW, whichever I deem most appropriate for the type of damage being thrown out. Most fights have a portion which is more healing intensive then the rest, and I save trinkets for those sections unless something unexpected happens. Healing meters showcase the general performance of healers and do have their advantages, but I do not base my playstyle on how I pump out the most hps. I am confident that I do my job properly.
To sum it all up, I'm mature individual and a confident raider who is desperately seeking a hardcore raiding guild to call home. Your raid times are perfect for me, I do not show up late for raids, I come prepared with plenty of flasks and extra food, and with the mindset to get shit done. I realize there are fights that require respeccing ,(IE Anub 25, ToGC) and am obviously willing to take the 5 minutes to do that. I'd like to thanks you for your time and consideration, and look forward to any questions and criticisms you may have.
Side Notes - After writing the short essay, I realized there was a template you were hoping for. I edited this application to include, I hope, all the information you were asking for. If I missed something, please let me know :)
